Hailing from San Francisco, Ellion Ness is also known as The Thinking Man’s Redhead. She started in Burlesque in the late-1950s. She worked in the chorus line at a New Jersey Minsky theater and collected the costumes in the wings as the headliners stripped. Ness transitioned to a featured stripteaser mentored by Lili St Cyr and Dardy Orlando. Ness even had an act where she parodied the Prohibition agent from whom she took her name, entering in a fedora with a drawn pistol and exiting in little else.
