Vaccinations
There will be NO vaccination requirement to attend or perform in the 2024 BHoF Weekender. This is not a decision we enter into lightly, as we value the health and safety of our attendees, performers, volunteers, staff, and Legends very highly. However,
- The United States has begun to stop issuing and marking vaccination cards, making it increasingly difficult to track vaccinations and their dates, and
- Many of the countries from which we commonly see visitors have not authorized widespread boosters.
In addition, the US Center for Disease Control (CDC) has advised that henceforth, given readily available treatments and currently very low mortality rates, COVID-19 should be treated as any other respiratory illness (such as flu, RSV, and the common cold), including greatly reducing self-quarantine measures.
We strongly recommend all BHoF Weekend attendees be vaccinated and recently boosted. However, as we are unable to adequately address the chaotic mishmash of regulations, vaccination availability, and documentation that currently make up the vaccination landscape, we cannot see any meaningful way to continue to require vaccination in order to attend.
Masks
Masks will not be required at the Weekender but we recommend all attendees follow current CDC guidance regarding mask-wearing when in contact with other persons or in public areas. Note that this requirement may change in very short notice depending on the situation in Clark County and advisements from the CDC or local health authorities. We recommend all attendees bring masks with them in case we find it necessary to impose a mask requirement at the last minute.
Self-Quarantine
According to CDC guidance, any person with symptoms of a respiratory illness — ongoing cough; high temperature, fever or chills; loss of or change in, your normal sense of taste or smell; shortness of breath; muscle aches not due to exercise; lack of hunger; lasting headache; sore throat, stuffy or runny nose; diarrhea; or just generally feeling sick – should self-quarantine until symptoms begin to abate and they have had no fever for at least 24 hours (without use of fever-reducing medication such as aspirin or ibuprofen). This applies regardless of whether you have had a positive COVID-19 test result. We ask, for the protection of our older guests, including our burlesque Legends, and our disabled and immunocompromised guests, that you do not attend any showcase or other BHoF event while experiencing symptoms of any respiratory illness, and that you self-quarantine.
