Press Requests and Policies
While we are extremely grateful for the support of the media, the BHoF Weekender is first and foremost a fundraiser for the non-profit Burlesque Hall of Fame. As such, the number of complimentary passes available each year is extremely limited, and we reserve the right to grant them to the outlets we feel are most appropriate for our audience and our mission. Please note that submitting a request for media passes and/or photo/video credentials does not guarantee that you will receive them.
RULES FOR PRESS CREDENTIALS & HOW TO APPLY
Requests for press passes must be submitted IN WRITING IN ADVANCE, and received no later than May 22, 2015. Requests received after this date will not be honored, nor will press passes be granted on-site without prior approval.
All requests must be made in writing outlining the coverage being offered and anticipated publication/release date(s).
Press requests may be sent by email.
For print publications, please include a copy of the publication with your request. If granted a credential, you must provide at least ten (10) complimentary hard copies of the issue in which our coverage appears, within 60 days of the publication date.
For television shows and/or documentaries (film or video), please submit a written proposal detailing your project before May 11, 2015. If granted permission to film, you must provide at least ten (10) complimentary DVD copies to the BHoF upon air/release.
For bloggers, while we appreciate the support of digital media professionals, we are only able to consider requests for credentials from outlets able to document an extensive (and relevant) distribution/subscriber base.
For photographers, we do not give press passes to unaffiliated photographers, so please do not apply unless you can confirm that you are on assignment, with a guaranteed outlet/publishing date for your images. Independent photographers may shoot select BHoF Weekender activities, provided they register with our PR Team and agree to abide by the Photo/Video Policy & Code of Conduct.
All members of the media must agree to the Photo/Video Policy & Code of Conduct. If you are unable to abide by this agreement, please do not apply.
YOU MUST MAKE PRIOR ARRANGEMENTS IN ALL CASES. We will NOT give out credentials on-site during the Weekender without advance approval, even if you have valid media ID.
Distribution of credentials: Credentials are distributed at the discretion of the BHoF and can be revoked at any time, should BHoF and the Orleans feel such action is called for.
Credentials must be visible at all times. Upon receipt, you will be required to sign a form confirming that you have read, understand, and agree to the Press and Photo/Video policies.
If you were credentialed press at the 2014 BHoF Weekender under these rules, please make sure you have provided your footage/photos by May 1, 2015 to be in good standing for current requests.
Photographers must provide material to the BHoF: All credentialed photographers agree to provide the BHoF with an edited CD or thumb drive of their best pictures, cleared for promotional use without limit (but with credit), within 60 days of the end of the event (i.e., August 7, 2015).
Video entities must provide to the BHoF: All raw, unedited footage, if requested, made available to the BHoF for use for promotional purposes (with credit given). The BHoF will supply the proper media for this and cover shipping costs.
Additional MANDATORY Venue Requirements
Additional approval by The Orleans is REQUIRED: Credentials given by the BHoF do not imply approval or permission of any kind by the Orleans or its parent company, Boyd Gaming. Anyone wishing to photograph, film, videotape, or otherwise record the premises of the Orleans Hotel & Casino (outside of handheld/wireless cameras within the confines of rooms exclusively reserved for BHoF Weekend events) MUST ALSO PREPARE A WRITTEN REQUEST FOR THE ORLEANS’ CORPORATE MARKETING DEPARTMENT NO LATER THAN MAY 1, 2015. Once prepared, this request should be submitted to the BHoF Press team, who will then submit them to the appropriate contact at The Orleans. There are no exceptions to this rule.
Limit to film entities: The Orleans has a cap on the number of film entities (four) and number of personnel per film entity (four). Once allocated, we cannot authorize any others.
Insurance and location agreement: Per The Orleans, all film entities must provide a written/signed location agreement, as well as a certificate of insurance showing a minimum of $2 million in liability coverage.
