55TH ANNUAL BURLESQUE HALL OF FAME CELEBRATION SHOWCASES
LEGENDS, PIONEERS AND VISIONARIES
Classic and neo-burlesque performers from around the world to strut their stuff
in celebration of the art, heart and history of the bump & grind

April 24, 2012 – Las Vegas, NV – The Burlesque Hall of Fame’s 55th annual all-star Burlesque Reunion will take place Thursday, May 31 – Sunday, June 3 at the Orleans Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.

A unique entertainment event, Burlesque Hall of Fame (BHoF) Weekend brings together the theatricality of neo-burlesque performance and the charm of classic striptease. Nightly showcases will feature top performers from around the world, shimmying and shaking before an international audience of enthusiastic entertainers and admirers—including an annual gathering of “vintage vixens”, many of whom made their names as stars of the burlesque stage at the height of the art’s mid-20th century heyday.

“This is your grandmother’s striptease—and it’s ours, too,” says international burlesque superstar Dita Von Teese, member of the BHoF Board of Directors. “Burlesque’s illustrious history and recent resurgence just goes to show that audiences appreciate its celebration of sensuality, glamour, humor and playfulness.”

The event is designed for newcomers, fans and performers alike, with each night highlighting different elements and styles of burlesque (and “boylesque”):

  • Thursday’s Movers, Shakers and Innovators features performances from the art’s cutting-edge;
  • Friday’s 55th Annual “Titans of Tease” Reunion showcases vintage-style striptease, performed by classic stars of the 1940s-1970s;
  • Saturday’s 22nd Annual Tournament of Tease features the world’s top neo-burlesque entertainers competing in debut, duo, group and boylesque categories, and for the coveted title, “Queen of Burlesque;”
  • Sunday’s All-Stars & Icons gala rounds out the weekend with a spectactular line-up of inspirational icons and BHoF titleholders past and present.
